Deadwood County is considered serious RP and requires all players to be 18+. This includes character ages as well.


Getting Started

​

Alright, so you are fresh off the Train…now what? Well, we are happy to have you! Number one thing that everyone wants to know is how to get started and how to make money in a timely manner. We have just the answers for you.

 

You receive the following item(s) to begin your journey:

- $500

- 3x Bottles of Water

- 3x Pieces of Jerky

- 1x Knife

 

Once you have created your character and you are immersing yourself into Deadwood County, we recommend making your way to a Gunsmith and outfitting yourself with the means to protect yourself…after all, this is 1885 and the Wild West. Once you are set with a weapon set, visit the Stables to get yourself a starting horse.

 

Making that Money

Deadwood County offers a plethora of jobs and activities to earn yourself some cash without delving into the Lawless Underworld or getting yourself a more permanent role. Utilizing your map, you’ll be able to see a few options:

 

• Delivery Job Centers (these pay prettyyyyyyy good….and you earn experience to get more lucrative deliveries.)

• Oil Company: Nothing says money like oil…

• Picking yourself up a pickaxe and heading to the mines to sell your ores to General Stores and Gunsmiths

• Tree Cutting: Get yourself an axe and chop some trees for wood and other materials that are very sought after by store owners.

 

All in all, this information will definitely get you started in the RIGHT direction. We encourage you to build your story and progress it in a serious manner, instead of blowing all your cash on weapons and setting the world on fire.

Saving that Money
Most towns have a bank. Use this to your advantage to store your money from any criminals you may encounter. If this type of unfortunate encounter happens, make sure you have read all of Deadwood County Rules, especially on Conflict (found in Discord under Information > Rules). Banks are not connected and you will need to withdraw or deposit to each one separately.

 

Keybindings and Game Mechanics

The one thing that we have prided ourselves on is mastering the simplistic. We don’t want our community to join in and take 8+ months to learn all the mechanics of a RedM server. We keep things very simple as our main priority is Quality Roleplay and Interactions. Here is a list of tips to help you shape the story you’ve always wanted:

RP Commands
These can be used by using T to open the chat window and typing in

/forest 1-5 - Display Tree/Wood chopping locations Ex: /forest 5   <-   (This would put a marker in Lemoyne in the Bayou Area)

/paybills - bills to be paid

/hideUi - hides user interface

/editneeds - rearrange your needs icons

/me - text message on character (in white) for performing an activity
/action - text message on character for performing an activity that could either be successful or fail

/status - leaves message on character until cleared

/cstatus - clears status message

/rc OR /rac - reload character

/scene - create signs

/id - shows your ID to those around you

/cash - shows money on hand, use at your own risk

/unstuck - get out of certain areas if stuck

/hideneeds whenactive OR /hideneeds visible OR /hideneeds hidden - change visibility of needs icons

/rp -Used as “Sign Language” for players who utilize mute characters or are unable to speak

Identification Cards
Identification cards are required by Law. It is recommended every law abiding citizen pick one up at the NR Office located in major town train stations.
 

 

 

Formatting for some of the information:

 

Your birthday - day of birth

Age - your current age

KG - weight in KG (1KG = 2.2LBS)

Height - height in CM (30.48CM = 1FT)

Needs

Your needs must be met to stay healthy. Food and drinks can be purchased from stores or crafted in your citizen crafting book. If you overexert yourself by using too much energy you may need to eat something nutritious or ask medical care for assistance.

 

Be careful what you intake as some things may be addictive. This will make you more famished and thirsty faster than normal. It may also cause you to have other impairments, making you need to seek medical care for assistance.

 

Pinboards and Advertising

Most towns have a pinboard that can be posted to by any citizen. You will find flyers for businesses, services, events or any type of requests a person may have. Images for your flyer can be posted by pasting the image link from discord.

 

Every citizen has a duty to keep pinboards clear of clutter. Please remove old flyers when they are no longer needed or have been updated.

Real Estate
Home ownership is the dream of many in the county. There are many options currently available and lots more that will be coming in the future. The ways to purchase a property at this time is buying one directly from another citizen or finding an unsold home and contacting the realtor to purchase (information and applications found in Discord under the Real Estate Category).
